In the middle of the first Sherlock Holmes novel we discover that the bad guy is the Mormon Church and then have an extended flashback to Brigham Young leading the first wagon train to found Salt Lake. During these few chapters, Arthur Conan Doyle demonstrates a startling ignorance of American geography and theocracy. Apparently this year, Doctor Who is going to the same stereotypically British place:
"A SWAT team ready to mobilize and street maps of all of Florida." Really?
The first request would be a serious infringement of state's rights; the second would fill the West Wing.
On the other hand: Matt Smith in a stetson! Alex Kingston with a six shooter! Those big headed aliens!
